Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Instructor: Christina Chambreau, DVM
Prerequisite: None.
Description: This course will give you a new understanding of health for animals and people. The Holistic paradigm will be discussed as well as the goal of holistic treatment. The early warning signs of illness will be exposed, as well as the progression of disease and healing. The introduction of an array of holistic methods will make the student aware of the broad range of holistic treatments available. Vaccinations, nutrition, and the current best recommendations will also be covered.
Length: 1 day, 9am -- 5pm.

Introduction to Homeopathic Animal Care
Instructor: Christina Chambreau, DVM
Prerequisite: Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Description: Open to professionals and non-professionals, this comprehensive course will teach you the history, philosophy, and basics of homeopathy as applied to animal care. You will learn the treatment of acute problems and be introduced to the treatment of chronic problems.
Length: 1 day, 9am -- 5pm.
Real Food for Real Pets: Introduction to Animal Nutrition
Instructor: Jennifer Boniface, MS
Prerequisite: Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Description:This course begins with a brief history of the pet food industry, the difference in anatomy and physiology among herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Species-appropriate food and the pros and cons of various feeding options are covered. Apprehensions about diet changes are addressed along with some practical methods for transitioning to a better diet. Information about supplements and specific health problems is also provided.
Length: 1 day, 9am -- 5pm.
Introduction to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine
Instructor: Alison Ryan Key, DVM CVA
Prerequisite: Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Description:This one day course will introduce the five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how they relate to our companion animals. Chinese medicine theory will be introduced.
Length: 1 day, 9am -- 5pm.
Reiki Level I
Instructor: Lisa DuPree, RMT, IARP, Reiki Master/Teacher
Prerequisite: Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Description:Attunements for Level I Reiki Practitioners. Class will include special emphasis on working with Animal Companions, as well as humans. The class will cover an explanation and a history of Reiki, Reiki symbol(s), practical applications, body scanning, and an attunement / initiation. Participants will be able to perform Reiki on themselves and their loved ones upon completion of the class, and will be certified as Level I Practitioners.
Length: 3 days, 6:30pm -- 8:30pm.
Please Note: The course is in three sessions on consecutive evenings. Each session is two hours. Class size is limited. Please register only if you can attend all three sessions.

Intermediate Homeopathic Animal Care

Prerequisites:Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Introduction to Homeopathic Animal Care or consent of instructor.
Description: This course provides an overview of treating chronic disease in animals. You will learn: how to take a case and evaluate the symptoms; how to use the repertory and "translate" it for use with animals; how to analyze the case and use the materia medica to select the best remedy; how to choose the correct potency; and, most important, how to evaluate an animal's response to treatment. You will also get some practice working on cases provided by the instructor.
Length: 5 days, 9am -- 5pm.
Intermediate Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine
Instructor: Alison Ryan Key, DVM CVA
Prerequisites: Introduction to Holistic Health Care for Pets
Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine for Pets.
Description:This 3 day course will further discuss the concepts of traditional Chinese medicine and how they relate to our companion animals. Meridian pathways, Integration of 8 principle and 5 element will be reviewed. Food therapy as based in TCVM will be introduced as well as Chinese medical massage and acupressure techniques.

Description:One of every three people will be diagnosed with this dreaded disease. There are many clinics outside of the mainstream medical community that have resulted in thousands being healed. Learn how scientists have been able to turn cancer on and off.

Instructor: Christina Chambreau, DVM
Christina Chambreau, DVM is founder and past-Chair of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy. She teaches throughout North America and has been practicing Homeopathy for 20 years. She recently authored The Healthy Animal's Journal: What You Can Do to Have Your Dog or Cat Live A Long and Healthy Life.

Instructor: Jennifer Boniface, MS
Jennifer Boniface is an animal nutritionist, who holds both a Bachelors Degree (BS) in Animal Science and a Masters Degree (MS), in Animal Nutrition Science. Both degrees are from the University of Maryland. Her graduate research specialized in canine diets. Her thesis project, conducted through the Nutrition Lab at the National Zoo in Washington,D.C., focused on the formulation and analysis of a special diet to help control urinary stones and other health problems in an endangered canid species, called the maned wolf.Instructor: Alison Key, DVM
Dr. Key became interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine during her undergraduate years at the University of Maryland while taking Tai Chi. After graduating from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002; she completed her certification to be a veterinary acupuncturist. She is a member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncturists.Instructor: Lisa DuPree, RMT, IARP, Reiki Master/Teacher
Certified Usui Reiki Master/Teacher Lisa Dupree is a holistic animal health practitioner and teacher, offering alternative treatments to assist people and their beloved animals. She has been closely involved with animals her entire life, and has worked in the showing, training, and competition of: horses, sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, chickens and rabbits. Lisa has been an instructor for more than 20 years, across many disciplines.
