About RescueGroups.org

RescueGroups.org was founded by Richard Saffell and Stephen Miller in January of 2002. We have seen the need for high-quality web solutions that allow animal rescue groups to focus on what they do best -- saving animal lives! We provide a low-overhead service that can be used by any volunteer or staff with a computer, and does not require any special software or training. We provide everything you need to have a dynamic, easy to maintain web site, for less than most hosting services.

Maryanne Dubbs, Board of Directors, Member-at-large

Steve Miller, Co-Chairman and CIO

Steve is a computer programmer living in Greenbelt, MD. Currently employed by Allegiance Telecom's Greenbelt Facilities, Steve holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland at College Park. Steve has 2 dogs (Hubie and Merle).

Linda Saffell, Board of Directors, Member-at-large

Linda has spent her life in Maryland, attending college on the Eastern Shore and developing her love for animals, especially cats. She is a skilled networker as well as a lover of administrative controls. Linda has a lot of experience with animal behavior counselling as a volunteer for several animal welfare organizations. She also brings a holistic view to animal issues, having worked with statistical data collection and project planning. She has an "encyclopedic" memory for the properties of many herbs and supplements. Linda has training and experience as a negotiator which she uses frequently in working with communities interested in using TNR to care for free-roaming cats. Linda has participated "hands-on" in several TNR projects. She is married with grown children and several grandchildren.

Richard Saffell, Co-Chairman and CTO

Richard is a Systems Engineer living in Bowie, Maryland. Currently employed with the American Red Cross in Falls Church, VA, Richard holds a number of computer systems certifications, including his MCSE+I on Windows NT 4, MCSE on Windows 2000, Novell CNA and Compaq ASE. He has two dogs (Amber and Rex) and one cat (Freddie).
